I don't have the time or energy to figure out all of these hospital bills.
An expert in billing problems has said that 9 out of 10 hospital bills contain errors averaging $1300... in the hospital's favor! Some of the problems include bundling of services, miscoding and hidden or undocumented charges. These are not a problem if you have an HMO that pays for everything but your co-pay. But if you have a policy where you are paying a percentage of the charges, these costs can add up. The cost of your medical care should be looked at just as you would a grocery bill. You wouldn't pay for an extra dozen eggs, so why should you overlook charges for procedures that weren't done or equipment that wasn't ordered or used?
