Oxford and Aetna US Health Care
Insurance company: Oxford and Aetna US Health Care
Patient was very ill with a recurring disease, and although in treatment, would probably not live long. The primary insurance carrier was paying her bills with regularity, but the secondary insurance was not. Consequently doctor's bills were accumulating at a rapid rate and the patient could not handle the paperwork.

Additionally, the secondary carrier sometimes denied the service and refused to pay altogether.

Solution:
HPN organized this patient's bills, contacted all doctors and other providers, and both insurance companies. All paperwork was organized, proper forms filed and reimbursements obtained for the physicians for all outstanding bills. Secondary carrier also accepted resubmission of services they had previously refused and paid their portion. The patient was able then to determine what co-pays were still remaining. Health Plan Navigator strongly recommended.

Cost: $2,200
Savings: $6,000
